The Global Gender Gap Report 2010 revealed that situation with equality between men and women in Armenia is better than in other South Caucasian states. In the report issued by the experts of World Economic Forum Armenia takes 84th place, Georgia – 88, while Azerbaijan – 100.

Counting the equality index, the experts compared opportunities that men and women have in 134 countries, including economic participation and opportunity – outcomes on salaries, participation levels and access to high-skilled employment, educational attainment – outcomes on access to basic and higher level education, political empowerment – outcomes on representation in decision-making structures, as well as health and survival.

Nordic countries Iceland (1), Norway (2), Finland (3) and Sweden (4) demonstrated the greatest equality between men and women according to the report.
