Official Baku’s deep reluctance to make a retaliatory step and lift visa regime with Tehran urged Iran to raise the question at the highest level.

The Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki expressed discontent with Azerbaijan’s position followed by Iranian businessmen and officials who had also called on Baku to respond.

Iran has lifted visa regime with Azerbaijan and is expecting for the other side to follow its lead, he said. Iran’s policy is directed on expansion and deepening of ties with world countries, Mottaki noted, adding that Iran and Georgia would mutually lift visa regime in the near future.
