Anti-Armenian, fascist and racist sentiments, falsification of history in Azerbaijan will not lead to a good outcome, Hayk Demoyan, Director of the Genocide Museum, told a press conference today. Azerbaijanis as an ethnic unity by competing and even being at war with the Armenia are trying to copy Armenian’s behavior.

“Actions of the Azerbaijani people and leadership testify to a national identity complex. It proves that Azerbaijani have no other way to unite a nation. There will be no artificially created Azerbaijani nation without the Karabakh issue and Armenia,” he said.

According to him, Azerbaijani copy Armenians in everything, “Seeing Armenians’ work with Diaspora, our struggle for Genocide recognition, they try to create Azerbaijani diaspora, speak of “genocides” perpetrated against Azerbaijani people, and erect monuments to so called victims.”

Demoyan considers that Azerbaijani authorities cultivate a myth about Heydar Aliyev, a “nation-wide leader” of Azerbaijani nation, erecting his monuments not only in Baku but in other world cities. Azerbaijani also place busts of their leader on the highest mountains.

“If they carry out this policy, Aliyev’s monuments will appear all over the globe in future. Although citizens of certain cities express discontent with erection of the monuments,” he concluded.
