On October 21, the Armenian Government made a rather bold and unexpected decision to restrict bonuses and subsidies to military and policing branches – the Ministry of Defense, National Security Service, Public Security Service, Rescue Service and Police. They will not any longer have the right to decide on bonuses and subsidies to their personnel. Since some funds are saved and spent on bonuses, which causes disproportions in salaries in different branches.

To put an end to disproportions, the Government decided to reserve the right to set the rates. The saved funds will be returned to the state budget.
