The rumors on the arrest of deputy commander-in-chief of the regiment Arthur Karapetyan in a military unit in Ararat region is true, the investigative department under Armenian Defense Ministry informed NEWS.am. The department said they cannot disclose details, as to whether an accusation is brought against Karapetyan.

As reported previously, commander of the military unit Vardan Martirosyan, nicknamed “Rozh”, was arrested earlier. According to available information, he abused and humiliated soldiers under the patronage of son of Chief of Armenian Armed Forces General Staff Yuri Khachaturov, making soldiers take out loans from banks.

As to the Armenian serviceman, posting the scandalous soldier harassment video on Youtube, the investigation department reported that the preliminary investigation is underway on the case. “We do not provide further information,” they said.

As NEWS.am reported previously, the video was posted on Youtube on September 21. Later, it became clear Sasun Galstyan is the officer who humiliated and abused Armenian soldiers in the Youtube scandalous video. He served as deputy commander in the “Yeghnikner” military unit. He was charged with “abuse of rank”, which provides 2-5 years’ imprisonment.
