YEREVAN. – There is no need to worry about a change in the US Department of State policy on the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) conflict, after Donald Trump’s election as US President.

The Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia, Shavarsh Kocharyan, told the aforesaid to reporters, after Thursday’s Cabinet meeting.

In his words, the US State Department is a stable agency with a stable institutional memory. Hence, as per Kocharyan, it is not a problem even if Trump, as a presidential candidate, had not spoken comprehensively regarding this matter.  

“We hardly should demand such information from a presidential candidate on all matters, without exception,” noted Kocharyan. “Let’s see what policies he will run when he assumes office.

“There is no need to worry. But we need to always work.”
