During Oct. 25 court hearings on Hrant Dink case was revealed that the assassin Ogun Samast may be tried at a juvenile court.

Defense lawyer Levent Yildirim appealed to the court demanding transfer the case of his client to a Juvenile Court, Hurriyet reported. The decision is based on Turkish parliament’s recent amendment to anti-terror law, also known as the ‘stone-throwing children’ which eases sentencing of children accused of fighting security forces. If a new law comes into effect about 200 children would be released in Turkey.

According to the Turkish Vatan, under new law Samast’s sentence term can be reduced by five years, as he was under 18 when committed the crime.
