There are no preconditions in the Protocols released by Armenia and Turkey, stated Galust Sahakyan, Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) faction leader, RPA Deputy Chairman.

According to him, only people who are “short of education and thinking” speak about preconditions set in the Protocols. “There are no implications. All the processes progress in Armenia’s interests,” Sahakyan said. Commenting on the statement of Turkish Prime Minister that the borders can be open only after the Karabakh conflict is settled, Sahakyan said: “Turkey can lay preconditions. We have what we have.” Moreover, Sahakyan believes there is no point in the Protocols on setting up a commission on the Armenian Genocide. “Armenia will never hold a historical discussion,” Sahakyan said, adding that commission will deal with restoration of churches, monuments and place-names.
