Jehovah’s Witnesses refuted that 23-year-old Arman Torosyan, accused of killing his parents on November 8 in the town of Sevan, was a member of the organization.

“He is not a member Jehovah’s Witnesses organization, he never was, and has nothing to do with Jehovah’s Witnesses,” said organization’s representative.

As Armenian News - NEWS.am reported earlier, on November 8, at about 16:00 local time, Sevan department of Armenian police received a call saying that shouting, noise, and cursing was heard from the apartment in Nalbandyan street.

Police Department officers arrived at the scene in 2-3 minutes, noticing a person who left the building running away. The police officers arrested the young man who was trying to run away.

In the apartment policemen found two disfigured corpses of a husband and wife - 64-year-old Khachik Torosyan and 57-year-old Marietta Torosyan.

The young man who was trying to run away was revealed to be couple’s 23-year-old son, Arman Torosyan.

Photo journalist Gagik Shamshyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am that the residents of the building said the young man was known as Jehovah’s Witness and was constantly arguing with his parents. He explained his actions by the fact that he was implementing God’s order.

Criminal proceedings were instituted. According to our sources, the young man will also undergo psychological examination.
