YEREVAN. – The Prime Minister of Armenia, Karen Karapetyan, on Thursday received the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Greece, Nikolaos Kotzias.

“This year marks the 25th anniversary of the establishment of Armenian-Greek diplomatic relations,” Karapetyan said in his welcoming remarks. “Our friendly relations are on a very high level, but we are interested in further intensifying and bringing a new quality to them.”

In particular, the PM underscored the development of bilateral economic ties. In addition, he welcomed Armenia-Greece collaboration at international platforms and these countries’ similar outlook on numerous matters that are on the international agenda.

FM Kotzias, in turn, conveyed to the Armenian PM the warm greetings from Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras. He added that his current visit to Armenia has but one objective: to establish strategic partnership. The foreign minister of Greece also agreed that intensive work is needed to develop bilateral economic relations.

The Armenian PM and the Greek FM reflected on the avenues for making economic collaboration grow deeper.

In addition, Karen Karapetyan and Nikolaos Kotzias exchanged views on cooperation within the framework of the European Union and the Eurasian Economic Union as well as on the prospects for regional cooperation.
