Russia intends to continue the mediation mission for the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, in cooperation with the co-chairs of the OSCE [i.e. the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe] Minsk Group, and based on the provisions of the joint statement by the presidents of Russia, the US, and France.
Official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), Maria Zakharova, noted the aforementioned.
She recalled that these documents point to the impermissibility of a military solution to this conflict, and they include a call to the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan to resolve this matter without the use of force.
“In parallel with the approaches that were agreed by the troika, Russia’s own efforts also will continue, considering the especially close relations with Armenia and Azerbaijan, [and] which allow exchanging frank views on key issues,” added Zakharova.
