The Republican Party of Armenia has not discussed the activities of RPA members, Armenian Education Minster Armen Ashotyan and Head of State Social Security Service Vazgen Khachikyan, after the Armenian Control Chamber revealed violations in these agencies, Press Secretary of Republican parliamentary group Eduard Sharmazanov told NEWS.am.

“The Republican Party of Armenia does not have the right to interfere into the activities of the executive branch. The Armenian Government should make an appraisal of its members’ activities itself and act in accordance with this,” Sharmazanov stressed.  Speaking of Mr. Khachikyan, the MP said RPA did not make any official statement on violations detected by Control Chamber in State Social Security Service.

“The publications were made in the mass media. So it is incorrect to arrive at any conclusion following only mass media publications,” the parliamentarian said, stressing that the State Social Security Service neither confirms nor refutes Khachikyan’s resignation.

As NEWS.am reported previously, at the November 4 governmental session, Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan sharply criticized those responsible for RA Health and Education Ministries, stressing that corruption has gone deep in these spheres. According to mass media publications, Khachikyan’s health deteriorated after RA Control Chamber detected flagrant violations during checkups into the State Social Security Service. According to reliable information, Khachikyan has left for Moscow.
