The OSCE summit participants will discuss ongoing conflicts, including situation in the Caucasus, Marc Perrin de Brichambaut, OSCE Secretary General, told a press conference in Moscow, RIA Novosti reported.
The OSCE leaders will discuss security, ongoing conflict, in particular situation in Georgia and other crucial issues, he added. In the course of Astana summit the participants will also confirm principles of Helsinki Final Act, organization’s fundamental document.
“Many tasks remain unsolved, it is very important to reconfirm it,” Brichambaut stated. The sides will also touch upon arms reduction, as well as struggle against threats coming from Afghanistan and Central Asia.
The summit scheduled for December 1-2 in Astana will bring together leaders and governments of 56 member states and 12 OSCE partners, as well as heads of 68 international agencies.
