The Azg newspaper interviewed Armenian Ambassador to the United Nations (U.N.) Karen Nazaryan.

“Azerbaijani propaganda, by means of the media outlets under its control, is, first of all, deceiving Azerbaijani society, trying to do so with the international community as well.

“In carrying out its activities in the U.N., Azerbaijan has for a long time been guided by, or rather contented with, steps intended for ‘domestic use’,” Nazaryan said.

As to whether the letters addressed to the U.N., as well as to other international institutions, may affect the Nagorno-Karabakh process, Ambassador Nazaryan said: “By circulating cheap letters, the Azerbaijani foreign office ands agencies under its control, including the Azerbaijani delegation to the U.N., are trying to discredit Armenia, Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process, being well aware of the fact that neither letters nor protests – verbal or written – can have a positive impact on the peace process.”

Nazaryan said that the U.N. is not dealing with the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process, and the U.N. Secretary General has repeatedly confirmed that, pointing out that the negotiations are conducted within the OSCE Minsk Group. “Moreover, both the U.N. leadership and the U.N. member-states are bewildered and disappointed over the letters. I am sure they in Baku are well aware of that,” Nazaryan said.
