U.S. military forces and cargo air deployment delivery to Afghanistan via Russia may be launched Today, Sept. 7. According to U.S.-Russia presidential agreement made at Moscow summit in early July, U.S. can maintain up to 4.5 thousand transit flights annually, ITAR-Tass reports.

Thus, over ten U.S. air lifters may pass via Russian territory on a daily basis. Besides, U.S. is not liable for transit taxation. United States Administration will save $133 million annually through the new air traffic route.
