VAT shouldn’t be imposed on glass containers in Armenia more than once, General Director of Beer of Yerevan (Kilikia), Ashot Baghdasaryan, told Armenian News – NEWS.am on Monday.

Issues of tax imposition on the returnable containers are currently being discussed in the Government. Now VAT is imposed on them only once—when the glass factory (or supplier) sells it to manufacturers (food, wines, etc.)

“This is a common practice in the entire world. That is why we don’t agree with VAT taxation of glass containers in case of each repeated use,” Baghdasaryan noted.
