YEREVAN. – Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan on Tuesday received Estonian Foreign Minister Sven Mikser, who is in Armenia on an official visit.

Noting that this year marks the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries—and which he described as friendly and efficient, the Karapetyan stressed the importance of continued cooperation on bilateral and multilateral platforms, press office of the government informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The interlocutors discussed intensification of trade relations, development of business ties, and avenues for implementing joint investment projects. In this context, they touched upon the prospects for cooperation in the information technology (IT) sector, and the PM suggested exchanging know-how in digitization and e-governance; a respective agreement was reached.

Also, the Prime Minister of Armenia and the Foreign Minister of Estonia exchanged views on European Union (EU)-Armenia relations. Within the framework of Estonia’s forthcoming Presidency of the Council of the EU, Mikser presented his country’s respective priorities.

In addition, reference was made to the EU summit due to be held this year along the lines of Estonia’s presidency, and during which the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement is expected to be signed.
