The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova did not rule out that Karabakh issue can be raised during the upcoming visit of the French foreign minister to Moscow.

At a weekly briefing Thursday, Maria Zakharova noted that the visit of the French minister is scheduled for June 20. The main topic of the talks will be the fight against terrorism, the situation in Syria, bilateral relations and a schedule of political contacts.

Asked whether the Karabakh issue will be discussed, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry did not rule out that the issue will be raised among other international challenges: “This is natural. We are in a dialogue with our French colleagues, including this matter.”

Speaking about the possibility of organizing a meeting at the level of the foreign ministers after the recent visit of the co-chairs to Yerevan and Nagorno-Karabakh, Maria Zakharova urged to wait for the official comment of the Russian representative who was directly on the ground and would share the assessments that would be later published on the Foreign Ministry website.

“As soon as the contacts are agreed upon, we will inform you. Now there is no information,” Zakharova noted.
