“Release of confidential documents by WikiLeaks is an irresponsible step by those who endanger life of people mentioned in the publications, whose safety worries Washington,” U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton stated at the meeting with students during her visit to Astana, NEWS.am correspondent reports from Astana.

“I think it is a sad history that confidential information has been published on the Internet, firstly I am concerned over the fate of those mentioned in the records,” Clinton said.

According to her, it must be admitted that the records are not only among diplomats, but also other people of different professions.

“All people rely on the confidentiality of correspondence, which in case with the U.S. Department of State and U.S. Embassy has been grossly violated,” she noted.

As NEWS.am reported previously, on November 28, the release of more than 250,000 U.S. embassy cables revealed previously secret information on American intelligence gathering, and political and military strategy.
