Flash floods killed eight people, several others missing in Turkey, according to the local authorities’ report. The suburbs of Istanbul were inundated with gushing waters. Heavy rains flooded thousands of homes, destroyed bridges and washed away the roads. Main highways linking Greece and Bulgaria are closed. Hundreds of cars are submerged in the sea.

The people in the affected areas are being evacuated by helicopters. The rescuers and units of Turkish army are working in the accident site. According to meteorological forecasts, the weather will improve in a few days, Russian “Vesti” reports.
