Only two of Armenian political leaders returned to politics without betraying their principles. They became popular leaders. One of them was Karen Demirchyan, the other Hakob Levon Ter-Petrosyan, Vardan Grigoryan, the leader of the People’s Way Party, stated at the congress of the People’s Party of Armenia. It was a slip of the tongue – Grigoryan mixed Levon Ter-Petrosyan’s first name with his middle name (Levon and Hakob respectively). The attendees, including Ter-Petrosyan himself, burst out laughing. Grigoryan tried to justify himself, saying: “When you speak from the bottom of your heart, slips of the tongue are inevitable.” Later, he approached Ter-Petrosyan and shook his hand. Ter-Petrosyan smiled a generous slime.
