Germany would benefit from lifting sanctions against Russia just as the Russian side, German Chancellor Angela Merkel said during an annual media conference on Tuesday.

“As you said, that will be good for the Russian economy and for the German economy,” TASS quotes Merkel.

German Chancellor assured if the Minsk agreement is kept, then the requirement will be met for lifting the sanctions on Russia.

Merkel added that the observance of the ceasefire agreement on Ukrain is of the utmost importance.
