The five-sided statement on Karabakh conflict resolution in Astana was a diplomatic retreat, Coordinator of Armenian National Congress (ANC) Levon Zurabyan told the reporters on December 8. According to him, Azeri leader Ilyam Aliyev’s appetite gradually develops and he expects new retreats.

“Meanwhile, Serzh Sargsyan’s presidency poses a threat to Armenia’s security. The only way out of the current situation is his resignation,” he said.

“Armenian National Congress made a strategic mistake giving up the active struggle against the ruling regime by staging rallies. This gesture should have been made at those authorities following national interests, whereas the Armenian authorities took an advantage of this opportunity to improve their positions. Armenian National Congress will go on struggling for their rights and overthrow of the ruling regime,” Zurabyan stressed.
