The Armenian Internet traffic exchange fund “Armix” will start its test work in two days, Chairman of the Board of Trustees Albert Toneyan told NEWS.am-Innovation. The preparatory work has been completed, he said.

The fund’s services are available not only to Internet providers, but also to organizations with their IP addresses.

The fund is only for exchanging Internet traffic within Armenia,” Toneyan said. About 30-40 organizations, including schools, are ready to join the fund by means of their IP addresses. A dozen Internet providers, which are involved in the action group, will soon start concluding contracts with the fund.

“I think all the Internet providers will join the fund and conclude contracts. They will gain economic benefits, and higher-speed Internet traffic will be ensured,” Toneyan said.

The fund ensures uninterrupted Internet communication in case communication between two organizations fails. The Armix Internet traffic exchange fund has been established this year by the Union of Information Technologies Enterprises (UITE) and Internet Community NGO. The action group includes representatives of the THT Company, ADC, GNC Alfa, Icon Communications, Web, Ucom, Future Technologies, Shirak Technologies, and others.
