Armenia-German military cooperation has been considerably developed for 12 years, German Ambassador to Armenia Hans-Jochen Schmidt said at today’s press conference.

He pointed out the Armenia-NATO meetings saying they yielded good results. “In particular the key issue on alternative service was discussed. It is praiseworthy that Armenia is taking interest in military experience of the NATO member states, it will be advantageous for the country,” he added.

Ambassador Schmidt also stressed importance of meetings between military attachés and Armenian officers.

“It provides an opportunity to discuss the Karabakh issue. Armenia, with its peaceable initiatives, is one step ahead as compared with Azerbaijan. This creates winning situation for Yerevan,” he stressed.
