Armenian Parliament members are puzzled at how they can vote on the bills on the agenda of the Parliament’s special session.
They say they have been unable to get acquainted with the documents during such a short period. So they cannot vote on them.
Vahan Hovhannisyan, Chairman of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) faction, said that the faction will not take part in the discussions and voting.
December 14, Parliament Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan convened a meeting of parliamentary factions.
On December 15, he stated he strongly objects to such voting, NEWS.am correspondent reported. “I object to Parliament members voting on bills they are not even acquainted with. In case of doubts, we can invite government officials for explanations,” he said. “Soothing over” the problem is unacceptable as well, Abrahamyan said.
The Parliament is to consider 35 packages (140 bills).
