Karabakh peace process has failed to undergo critical changes in 2010, political scientist Alexander Iskandaryan told the reporters on December 15, commenting on the outcome of the negotiation process during the current year. According to the expert, Russia plays a key role in the conflict resolution.

“During this year Russia concentrated its efforts to maintain the status quo in the Karabakh conflict zone and the other OSCE MG co-chairing countries did not oppose it,” he said.

“Though the negotiation process lacked tangible results, the talks are underway within Minsk Group, which indicates the conflicting parties do not oppose to continue the talks in the same format,” Iskandaryan underscored.
