Two citizens of Armenia were detained on the Georgian-Turkish border for smuggling gold, Rosbalt reports.

According to preliminary information, they tried to smuggle 1.5 kg of jewelry into the territory of Georgia.
Note that, according to the Georgian Customs Code the smugglers would be denied the right to cross the border for a year.

The ban may be lifted only with a $3 thousand bank guarantee. In case of a second violation, this amount is confiscated from the account, and the ban on crossing the border is extended.
