As a state with 130 nationalities residing it in, Kazakhstan has a wide experience of peaceful co-existence of peoples. So tolerance was one of the priorities of Kazakhstan’s OSCE chairmanship, Kazakh Ambassador to Armenia Ayimdos Bozjigitov stated at the conference summing up the results of Kazakhstan’s OSCE chairmanship in Yerevan, Dec. 17.

According to him, as OSCE chairing country, Kazakhstan did its best to meet its partners’ expectations. “Kazakhstan did its best to ensure a balance between all the three aspects of the OSCE activities.

“The work carried out as part of the current negotiations over protracted conflicts inspires hopes. However, we must admit the fact that the OSCE as an international organization is still in the making,” Ambassador Bozjigitov said.

The OSCE Summit in Astana after an 11-year interval contributed to the organization’s reputation.

“The OSCE Summit in Astana, where the Astana declaration was adopted, was a key event on Kazakhstan’s chairmanship and great achievement of Kazakh diplomacy. Expert say Kazakhstan’s chairmanship inaugurated a new stage in the organization’s history,” the Ambassador said.

He pointed out that involvement of numerous experts in discussions of international agenda was one of the specific features of Kazakh chairmanship.
