Turkey intends to purchase Patriot PAC-3 rockets from the U.S. totaling 7.8 billion USD, Turkish Stratejikboyut website informs. Pentagon’s Defense Security Cooperation Agency reported U.S. plans to sell 13 Patriot systems and 72 PAC-3 missiles to Turkey.

Turkish expert Soner Cagaptay deems the deal will enhance U.S.-Turkey military relations making Turkey number one military partner of the United States. Turkey is going to use the missiles to reinforce its military power, to strengthen defense capability and stand up to the regional threats.

It is expected that U.S. Congress will adopt the project.
