A series of events devoted to the 30th anniversary of the Karabakh (Artsakh) Movement took place in the European Parliament.
Within the framework of these events, Members of the European Parliament issued a statement condemning the Armenian pogroms in Azerbaijan’s Sumgait town in 1988, and, together with numerous others in attendance, observed a minute in silence in memory of the innocent victims of these pogroms.
Also, discussions were held on the avenues for the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the legal and political grounds for the self-determination of Artsakh, and the role and importance of the European Union.
