All the schools and universities will be closed in Egypt till the beginning of October to prevent the epidemic virus A/H1N1 (swine flu), BBC reports.

The academic year will officially start on October 3, 2009 (not September 26, as scheduled). So far 900 cases of swine flu were registered in the country, two of them-fatal.

On September 16, 2009 Egyptian Ministry of Health published a special plan on A/H1N1, assuming that closing of all schools and universities for 1-4 weeks.

The total number of officially confirmed A/H1N1 cases is 286.364, of which 3.724 people died, World Health Organization informs.
