Iran does not need a nuclear weapon, declared President of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in the interview with NBC. Ahmadinejad said Iran’s projects and plans have nothing to do with development of nuclear weapon.

“We believe that nuclear weapon belongs to the past, to the previous generation. We see no need of such weapon any more,” he stated. According to the President of Islamic Republic of Iran, his country can maintain self-defense without the nuclear weapon. However, he underlined that he will never change Iran’s uranium enrichment plans within the framework of peaceful use of atomic power. “Iran will never cancel its plans concerning uranium enrichment for peaceful purposes,” Ahmadinejad concluded.
