Тhe best way of knowing the public opinion on an issue is to hold a referendum, Chairman of the Heritage Party Armen Martirosyan stated at a press briefing, commenting on the Armenian-Turkish Protocols and the Armenian President’s initiative to organize public discussions on the issue.

As to why the Heritage Party did not take part in the Armenian President’s meeting with the leaders of Armenia’s political forces yesterday, Martirosyan said that the meeting was a mere sham. “Why take part in the discussions, if the Protocols will not be amended any way – issues must be discussed before any agreements are reached on them,” Martirosyan said.
