The official Baku seeks ways of radical changes of negotiations format and negotiate directly with Nagorno Karabakh leaders without mediators, that has no alternative, NKR MFA Information agency statement reads, following a visit of the Armenian and Azerbaijani intellectuals’ representatives to Karabakh under the heading of Ambassadors of Armenia and Azerbaijan to Russia — Armen Smbatyan and Polad Bulbuloghlu, as well as the RF President's special envoy for international cultural relations, Head of the Russian Federal Agency on Culture and Cinematography, Mikhail Shvidkoy.

The document also says, that the authorities of Nagorno Karabakh once again demonstrated goodwill, giving their consent to receive the representatives of the intellectuals. “Visiting Karabakh, the Azerbaijani delegation members again ascertained that they deal with the established state, that since the independence, overcoming as a result of Azerbaijani aggression, war and blockade difficulties and obstacles, reached an unprecedented progress in all fields. These factors make exceptional preconditions for the international recognition of Karabakh as an independent state,” it emphasizes.

As for the disagreements on Azerbaijani delegation’s itinerary and membership, the Karabakh party did not only demand to change the itinerary, but also expelled the Azerbaijani Milli Mejlis Deputy, Khavva Mamedova, and the delegation member, Chingiz Ismailov for their pronounced anti-Karabakh and anti-Armenian position.
