From September 28 to October 2, 2009 military maneuvers will be conducted with the participation of Turkish, Azerbaijani and Georgian armed forces in Ankara Land Forces garrisons, Turkish Milliyet daily reports.

According to the daily, the purpose of military exercises is the effective protection of oil and gas pipelines passing through the territories of all three countries, as well as the cooperation of Turkey, Azerbaijan and Georgia in the field of soldering. Overall 42 servicemen will take part in the maneuvers.
