“We expected nothing else, but this from our Turkish colleagues. We are satisfied with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s standpoint for keeping his word no to open the border without NKR conflict settlement,” official representative of Azerbaijani MFA Elhan Polukhov commented on Turkish Premier’s statement in New York to open the border only if Karabakh conflict defrosts.

According to Polukhov, the efforts of the international community to Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement depend also on Armenia’s position. “Despite Azerbaijani efforts, we do not see constructability from Armenian side and expect certain steps in that regard,” he concluded.
