September 24, 2009 Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan delivered a speech in the session of UN General Assembly. He touched upon Armenia-Turkey relations’ normalization.

Erdogan’s extensive report was covering the world conflicts and Turkey’s involvement in the settlement processes to a greater or lesser degree.

Turkey continues to hurl all the efforts into establishing peace and stability in the region together with the neighbors, particularly in the recent years, Turkish Premier outlined. According to him, the country adheres to “zero problem and maximum cooperation with neighbors” principle and achieved significant progress in the mutual relations with neighbors.

Turkey aims at devolution of good-neighborly passive relations to the fences and cooperation, Erdogan stated citing the examples of Armenia and Greece and the recent developments.

“The dialogue with Greece progresses and the quest for establishing relations with Armenia has already created the occasion and yielded results,” Erdogan stated. “The time to identify solutions to the conflicts in

Caucasus based on the territorial integrity has come,” Turkish Premier noted, expressing a hope that their counterparts support Turkey’s position to establish peace, stability and security in the region. “We consider, Stability and Cooperation Platform initiated in Caucasus in August 2008 will contribute to the efforts, exerted in that direction,” Erdogan concluded.
