The Minsk Group Co-Chairs have nothing to say to official Stepanakert, as they turn deaf ear to Nagorno-Karabakh’s position. This is the reason the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs refuse to visit Nagorno-Karabakh explaining it by climate conditions, Chairman of Foreign Affairs Committee of NKR National Assembly Vahram Aatanesyan told a press conference on March 15.
Meanwhile, the parliamentarian noted he is unaware whether the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs will arrive in Nagorno-Karabakh within the framework of their regional visit. He noted sooner or later Stepanakert should be directly involved in the negotiation process, as Karabakh’s status determination is impossible without its participation. According to him, when the time comes for the conflicting parties to agree on the basic principles for the conflict resolution, Stepanakert will be involved in the process. The MP also welcomed the Sochi meeting of Armenian, Russian and Azerbaijani Presidents as it ensured further negotiations. Atanesyan emphasized it plays into the hands of the Armenian side.
As Armenian News-NEWS.am reported earlier, the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs will arrive in Yerevan. It is yet unclear whether Karabakh mediators will go to Nagorno-Karabakh. The purpose of the visit is to make preparations for an international monitoring in the line of contact between Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijani armed forces.
