If demanding the President’s resignation is the only way of torpedoing the signing of the Armenian-Turkish Protocols, the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) will resort to that step. However, it is not the right way – the public consolidation and resistance is the only way, the ARF member Artsvik Minasyan told a press conference.
“The present situation requires combined efforts to meet Turkey’s threats,” he said. As regards the ARF’s demand for the resignation of Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandyan, not that of President Serzh Sargsya, Minasyan pointed out that the ARF is thereby affording the President an opportunity to correct his foreign policy. “Unlike other parties, we do not lay any claims to your post or want you to resign,” Minasyan said, addressing the Armenian President in a familiar way. He expressed hope that President Sargsyan will consider his opinion.
