The US Department of State has announced new formal sanctions against Russia over the Skripal case, TASS reported.

The second round of these sanctions comes into force on August 19, it will be in effect for at least a year, and will limit Russia’s access to multilateral development banking system.

In addition, US banks’ financing of non-ruble debts will also be restricted for Russia.

Furthermore, the new sanctions envision limited Russian access to billions of dollars during commercial activities with the US.

Former Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia were poisoned with the Russian nerve agent Novichok in Salisbury, England, though they have now recovered. Russia, however, denies any role in this poisoning.
