Yesterday’s statement of Armenian President on Turkey, made during the press-conference, does not mean that position of Armenia on this matter became hard-line, said Chairman of Noravank Scientific-Research Foundation Gagik Harutunyan.

According to him, there are no changes in Armenia’s position in Armenian-Turkish rapprochement process. Moreover, Armenia adheres to its fundamental principles in dialogue with Turkey and has not accepted any precondition posed by Turkey. He stated, that President Serzh Sargsyan’s recent statement emphasizes, Armenia is firm in its principles, whereas, Turkey tries to connect Armenian-Turkish rapprochement with Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Harutunyan also recalled US President Barack Obama speaking of territorial integrity principles as being a cornerstone of international politics. The expert says, that statements on sovereignty in the context of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict are ambiguous – as both Azerbaijan and Nagorno-Karabakh are guided by this very principle.
