September 28, 2009 a major car accident in Marmaris, south-west Turkey killed one man.

A van carrying beehives collided with a truck parked on the wayside. Swarms of bees broke free and stung five people in the van, as well as policemen and medics in the accident site, Associated Press reports.

According to the agency, all the injured (around 20) were immediately hospitalized. The situation regained control after the specialist bee-keepers arrived at the emergency site.
