The issues of the Armenian Genocide is on the Georgian Parliament’s agenda, but, unfortunately, the country’s Parliament will soon “settle” the issue, pleading the Armenian-Turkish Protocols, the former Armenian foreign minister Vartan Oskanian told reporters.

“It is two years since no Parliament has recognized the Armenian Genocide – no discussion has even been held. This is an unprecedented case. The previous ten years had seen at least five or six discussions, and one or two Parliaments recognized the Genocide. This process has been at a standstill for two years,” Oskanian said. “The only case is a 10-minute-long discussion at the Israeli Parliament. It was there that a statement was made on the Armenian-Turkish dialogue, which ‘should not be interfered in’,” said the politician.

According to Oskanian, the Turkish side will certainly be exploiting the issue of the Armenian Genocide in the context of the point on a scientific subcommittee incorporated in the Armenian-Turkish protocols, which will prevent international the discussions of the Armenian Genocide.
