October 5, 2009 at 4:45 a.m. local time train accident in Thailand killed seven passengers, wounded 100 others. Passenger train travelling from Trang province to the capital Bangkok derailed near Hua Hin resort. Six of the 16 carriages ran off the tracks, AFP reports.

Presently search and rescue operations are carried out in the site. The incident causes are not clarified, however according to ITAR-TASS the it was caused by torrential rains.

All the victims were citizens of Thailand, BBC reports. No information on foreign tourists is reported.
