Torrential rains caused by typhoon Parma in Philippines killed at least 16 people. According to Russian PRIME-TASS news agency, more than 10 villages in northern part of the country (3 million population) were inundated with waters.

Typhoon Parma hit Philippines eight days after the storm Ketsana struck the same area killing nearly 300 people and causing the heaviest inundation in the capital Manila in recent 40 years. Ketsana moved to Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos killing 99, 14 and 16 people respectively, ITAR TASS reports.

Within the week four disasters occurred in South-Eastern Asia: devastating quakes in Indonesia, tsunami in Samoa Islands and typhoons Ketsana and Parma.
