the decision to normalize bilateral relations made by Armenia and Turkey will contribute to consolidation of the countries’ relations with Brussels, stated the Secretary-General of the Council of the European Union, Javier Solana, Radio Liberty reports.

“We support the process is in the interests of EU, both countries and the region on the whole,” Solana said, adding that his presence at the signing indicates that EU is satisfied with the process. He underlined that Brussels expects early ratification of the documents by both countries’ parliaments. I hope that after speedy ratification, the Protocols will be soon implemented, the Secretary-General underlined.

As NEWS.am already reported the Protocols will be signed at 8:00 p.m. Yerevan time in Zurich. The documents will be signed by Armenian and Turkish Foreign Ministers, Edward Nalbandyan and Ahmet Davutoglu.
