“When I stated that I would go to Turkey if the border is reopened or we are on the threshold of reopening I did not set any preconditions. I just meant major prerequisites for that should be available. Now I think they are available. We have never spoke to anybody in the language of preconditions, and I think the Armenia-Turkey relations should develop without preconditions,” RA President Serzh Sargsyan said at the Zvartnots airport.

“I emphasize the principle of mutuality in bilateral relations. Turkish President Abdullah Gul arrived in Armenia at my invitation and now I do not see any serious reason to refuse his invitation. My counterpart sent a letter of invitation to me,” Serzh Sargsyan said adding he will attend the Armenia-Turkey football match in Bursa and support the Armenian team if nothing extraordinary occurs within the next two days.

The Turkey-Armenia football match will take place in Bursa, October 14. The Armenian national team and delegation arrived in Turkey yesterday. October, 12, 2009, RA President Serzh Sargsyan paid a one-day visit to Moscow to meet with his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev.
