A Chechen journalist Asya Umarova was detained by Azerbaijani law enforcement bodies. As Georgian Online reports referring to Abkhazian Media Centre, the cause for detention failed to be clarified.
According to the agency, on October 12, Umarova was in Tbilisi for the Media Centre workshop “Journalists for Peace”. However, why she went to Azerbaijan after the event instead of Chechnya is yet unclear.
