RA President Serzh Sargsyan’s visit to Turkey is a justified step and will have a positive effect on the further development of Armenia-Turkey relations, RA National Assembly Vice-Speaker and ruling Armenian Republican Party member Samvel Nikoyan told NEWS.am.

According to him, there are no obstacles for the presidential visit. “Serzh Sargsyan stated earlier he would go to Turkey if the borders are open or are on the threshold of opening. If Sargsyan decided to go to Turkey, it means the parties are close to border opening,” Nikoyan outlined.

Asked whether President’s attendance will contribute to Armenian national team victory, Nikoyan replied: “We will see it tomorrow, when we will root for our favorite team.”

October 14, 2009 Armenia-Turkey football match will take place in Bursa. RA President Serzh Sargsyan promised to attend the match and support Armenian team.
